Summer School

Community High School District 155 offers five different summer school programs including regular, remedial, special education, high school prep, and enrichment. You are encouraged to review these materials carefully before registering. Please understand that students must reside in District 155 to be eligible for enrollment in summer school. Also, instances may occur in which a course is not offered due to low enrollment.

With the exception of driver’s education and special education courses, all summer school courses will be held at Prairie Ridge High School located at 6000 Dvorak Drive in Crystal Lake, IL 60012. The main office number is (815) 479-0404. Driver’s education courses meet at the student’s home school during session one or at Crystal Lake Central for session two. Please see the driver’s education section of this packet for more information. All special education courses meet at Crystal Lake South High School.

Perhaps of the greatest interest, summer school also includes driver's education class. Unlike other course offerings, summer school driver's education is taught as a four-week course (schedule and details below).

Summer School 2010 Information

Regular, remedial, high school prep, and enrichment summer school courses will be offered exclusively at Prairie Ridge High School, with bus service provided to and from the student's home school. Students enrolled in driver's education will take classes at their home school. Special education courses will meet at Crystal Lake South High School. It is important to note that only District 155 students may enroll in the district's summer school program.

Class meeting dates and times vary by course. Please download the 2010 Summer School Packet here (PDF) for complete information about course offerings, schedules, transportation, and general information/rules.

For session one, students will meet at their regular "home" school for both behind-the-wheel and classroom driver's ed. During session two, all classes and driving will take place at Crystal Lake Central High School.
