Online Pre-registration Available Now for Fall Semester 2008

Online pre-registration is available 24 hours per day between July 21 and August 8. The process allows students and parents to verify and update student information, pay the registration fee, and purchase certain products from the school store such as activity tickets and the 2008-2009 yearbook. By utilizing this system students will be able to bypass certain lines during on-site registration. Remember that all students also <b>must attend</b> their regularly scheduled on-site registration in order to pick up books, class schedule, student ID, and turn in mandatory forms.

District Driver's Ed Program Update

District 155 recently applied for a waiver for 27-24.3 of the Illinois School Code to give us flexibility as we studied how best to provide driver's education classes to our students. As with past decisions concerning driver's education and other school matters, safety is the district's number one priority and a guiding factor in the district's planning and execution. Prior to the Illinois Legislature's decision, District 155 implemented a plan to follow the new Illinois School Code, including hiring more teachers and eliminating the simulator rooms, and procuring more training cars. Therefore, driver's ed students at each of the District 155 schools will experience six hours of in-car driving practice with an instructor and be fully compliant with the new code. District 155 will serve the same number of drivers per semester as in the past.

Acclaimed Slam Poet Visits Prairie Ridge

Valentine's Day is usually a time of odes dripping with sentimentality and loveliness. Cards and gifts given on that day feature poems, messages of love, and images of hearts and flowers. But students at Prairie Ridge High School were exposed to a non-traditional form of poetry this past Valentine's Day when acclaimed Slam poet George David Miller visited the school . . . <a href="http://www.d155.org/newsarchive/0708/080326SlamPoet.htm" target="_blank">more</a>
