Prairie Ridge Seniors to Dedicate Veterans Memorial
Prairie Ridge High School's tradition of ambitious senior projects continues to grow. The class of 2009 will unveil its efforts—a Veterans
Memorial—at a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, May 26. Coined "A Tribute to Our Heroes," this memorial represents Prairie Ridge's recognition
of the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces . . . more
Mr. CLS Returns for 12th Annual Show
Before competing in front of an audience of millions as a finalist on FOX's "American Idol" in 2002, Jim Verraros faced a more daunting crowd: his peers.
Verraros, a graduate of Crystal Lake South, competed along with ten of his classmates for the 2001 Mr. CLS title. Now in its twelfth year, the Mr. CLS pageant
showcases South's top senior boys for their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements. The annual event will take place on Saturday, May 16 in the

Important Information & Links Regarding Swine Flu
As you may be aware, human cases of swine influenza have been reported in the United States. In an effort to be proactive
in preventing the spread of the flu, District 155 has been working in consultation with the McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH).
The district along with MCDH and other local health and law enforcement entitities have an existing pandemic flu plan which helps all parties to stay vigilant
to help prevent the spread of this and other infections . . . more
Standardized Test Days Provide Opportunity For Non-Traditional Lessons
For District 155's seniors, the PSAE and PLAN testing days provided an opportunity to learn some important lessons in some unconventional ways. Across the
district, seniors attended a variety of different activities designed to expose them to potential careers, volunteer opportunities, and some skills necessary

District 155 has launched a new Web microsite dedicated to the district's Student Assistance Program (SAP). The site, which features helpful links and tips for
students and their parents, will continuously grow as a resource with the SAP Committee's Parent Tip of the Month. The site also features information on the district's

Sixty-Seven Students Honored at March Board of Education Meeting
It wasn't just the Irish celebrating on St. Patrick's Day this year. In District 155, the Board of Education dedicated time at its March 17
meeting to celebrate the accomplishments of sixty-seven students from across the district. Students from six teams and two individuals were honored for
their accomplishments in the classroom or field of play . . . more.
2009-10 Calendar Approved by Board of Education
The District 155 Board of Education approved the 2009-2010 school calendar at its February 17 meeting. The school year will begin with Freshman Orientation
on August 21, and the first day of classes for all students on August 24. Graduation will take place on May 29, 2010. The last day of second semester final exams
is subject to change based on emergency closing days due to weather, but will be no sooner than May 28, and no later than June 8. The calendar is available for

Course Learning Team Late Start Mondays Begin September 8
Monday marks the first Course Learning Team Late Start Monday. For bus riders, please remember that your bus will pick you up
at the normal time on Monday. Students who drive, walk, or receive rides to school need to arrive prior to their first period
class, which starts promptly at 8:10 a.m. This late start schedule will continue for the remainder of the school year on any
